                      February UPdates

Good Day!

Thank the Lord for one of the nicest Januarys on record, at least during my recollection, a sweet reprieve from the busyness of fall and Christmas! Now we are ready to look ahead to February and beyond. The first shipment of the year arrives next week, so expect a full granary on your next visit. Come shop on Tuesday from 3 to 7 & again on Saturday from 10 to noon. If you are in the area, give us a call. If we are here you are more than welcome to shop!

Reserve the date for our annual Wholy Living event with Debbie Deitz:

WINTER RECIPES

You’ll find my Sizzle Bean Soup concoction here. We love it & wow, it is so easy. I make up 6 or so jars at a time. Some end up as gifts, others in my Sizzle Pot. It takes just a short time to fill the jars.

This recipe makes a nice about of Hot Chocolate, so I shared it in a small jar of course, with several friends for Christmas. I made both kinds, with white & milk chocolate chips. Both were equally satisfying.

Debbie’s Hot Chocolate Mix

Pulse in your Food Processor 1 C ECJ Sugar (our Organic Evaporated Cane Juice Sugar)
After sugar has been ‘refined’, add to the Food Processor:
2 C Morning Moos Powder                        2 T vanilla powder                                                  1 1/2 t almond powder to pull out sweetness w/o added ‘flavor’                                              1 C white or milk chocolate chips              1/4 t salt

Process together until well mixed. Store in airtight container.

TO MAKE COCOA:
Add 1/4 C mix to 10 ounces hot water. Stir well. Add a candy cane for peppermint hot cocoa.

TA DA …. WHOLY LIVING QUARTER POUNDERS

Visit Chevron in Palmer & ask for Wholy Living Quarter Pounders. You’ll see the display of your favorite ‘healthy alternative’ candies right in the middle of the store! YUP! Coconut Chews, Rainbow Drops, Yogurt Raisins, Palmer Trail Mix, Mini PB Cups … all hanging in cute ¼ # packs for quick grab n go snacks. Of course, you may keep on coming up the hill for the 1# or 5# size. The Manager wanted a healthier treat for her children. We are excited to see how this might turn out.

Shoot me a quick email to reserve your spot at a class or for YOUR POWERHOUSE PANTRY with ANCIENT GRAINS event.

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40: 28 - 31
