FALL 1993 (the beginning)
Why whole grain living? God designed grain as one of the most complete foods. When freshly ground, it provides your body with all the vitamins, minerals, and proteins God put into it. Western civilization removes those nutrients and paves the way for multitude of diseases. We are on the best health care plan on earth when we mill our own flour. In John 6:35, Jesus clearly states: I AM the bread of life; he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst. During the hustle and bustle of the holiday time, take time to feed on the Bread of Life. Jesus also said in Matthew 4:4, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. God's Word is the only nutrient that can fill the void in every heart.
SPRING 1994
When Abigail sought to make peace with David because of her stingy husband, she brought him 200 loaves of fresh bread. I'm not suggesting you keep 200 loaves of fresh bread ready, but seek to be a blessing and be willing to share your bounty, even with your enemies. Abigail set forth a good example of peace-making for us all in I Samuel 25. Also, let's be sure to enjoy this summer with our families. They need our QUANTITY time as well as QUALITY time. Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Psalm 127:3
FALL 1995
Recently my thoughts have turned to a special friend of our famiy named Anton Becker. This past February Bro. Becker passed a very significant milestone that very few of us will ever see. He arrived at the grand age of 90, born Feb. 22, 1905. Bro. Becker served his Lord faithfully as a missionary for decades, many of those years in Alaska. On April 2, he was ushered into the Glories of Heaven where he longed to be. Let me share with you some quoted forom the fly leaf of one of his Bibles.

       Today, everything is controlled by the switch, but the child.
       Read the Bible as a believer and not as a critic.
       The word 'good' comes from the same root word as 'God.' No one can be good without God.
       Teachers teach what they are, more than what they say. (Who is your child's teacher?)
       If you do not want the fruits of sin, stay out of the garden.
       A wedlock is a padlock.
       Christians like camels unload their burdens while kneeling.
SPRING 1996
Last time I shared thoughts from a dear Saint. Anton Becker entered Heaven's portals just a year ago. Here are a few more of his pearls of wisdom:
       Sin that fascinates you will assinate you.
       When we sling mud, we lose ground, and our hands get dirty.
       Salvation is free, but not cheap.
       There are no atheist born, they have to be made atheists.
       He who rows the boat seldom rocks it.
       Steel is worthless if itloses its temper.
       The whole Bible flows into the Book of Revelation.
       God call men when they are busy, Satan calls men when they are idle.
FALL 1996
We just published a price list, as we were living in travel trailers on the property & did well just to get a load of grain here.
SPRING 1997
It seems like many a moon since we chatted last. Last year's letter left much to be desired, since we were literally 'under construction.' Now we are somewhat in our 'right minds,' living in a real house. God faithfully provided and met every need and kept us together through this building project. He even gave us a darling granddaughter. Greg and Ruth's Julia is a very special treasure!! Psalm 147:11-14 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy. Praise the LORD. For He hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee. He maketh peace in thy borders and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
FALL 1998
Pleasant words are as a honey comb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones. Proverbs 16:24 Our tongues are a small member of the body, but Oh so powerful.

Thoughts to ponder...
       I have often regretted my words, seldom my silence.
       Nothing is opened more by mistake than the mouth.
       They who gossip to you will gossip about you.

EXTRA 1999 ORDER (remember Y2K?)
In these days of uncertainty, wickedness and frustration, the care of this world can weigh us down with a sense of hopelessness and defeat. When all else fails, read the Instruction Book. "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts." Jeremiah 15:16. God's Word has the answers. God wants to give us peace, joy and contentment, but we must seek Him!   Psalm 81:16 talks about 'the finest of the wheat.' God wanted to feed Israel the best. Read the entire Psalm. God's plan is always good and best, but we must submit to Him. God blessed Israel, God delivered Israel, time and again. God called Israel, "Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it." Vs 10. Did Israel harken" NO! They turned their backs on God! No joy, no contentment - only bondage, defeat and oppression.   Let us learn from Israel' mistakes - "Trust in the Lord with all thine hear, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 Let us not look to the future with fear, but with the Lord. I would be happy to share how Jesus changed my life, set my feet on The Rock and established my goings.
SPRING 1999
In the wake of the gruesome events in Colorado, keeping our eyes and thoughts centered on the Source of all Wisdom, Holiness and Righteousness will bring peace. Our legislatures will not solve anything with metal detectors, drug sniffers, or more gun controls. But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Job goes on to tell there is no price for it, not gold, nor silver and it can not be found anywhere. Then the conclusion, And unto man He said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:20, 28 Read that whole chapter. It will inspire and refocus your thoughts and meditations onto God's awesomeness. Like Job, Solomon reminds us of the vanities of this life . Joy is not found in the things of the world - our possessions, position, or priorities. The wisest man stated it simply, Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
SPRING 2000
Since most of us endeavaor to fulfill Proverbs 14:1 Every wise woman buildeth her house..., we receive criticism. Let me share with you what a friend shared with me several years ago.

HOUSEWIFE
       So you're just a housewife, what a shame,
       What fulfillment does that leave you;
       For without a business suit we're told,
       You're not of any value.
       For all you do throughout the day is help to share a life,
       And stand in the gap to pray for your home and be a godly wife.
       You teach your children about the Lord and His Word as meditation;
       So a heritage will follow their lives from generation to generation.
       And when on that final judgment day
       The saints gather round His throne;
       I wonder how many shall surely say,
       "I'm here 'cause Mom stayed home".

'Therefore my beloved brethren (and sisters) be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord for as much as ye know your labor is not in vain in the Lord.' I Cor. 15:58
AUTUMN 2000
Bread symbolizes satisfaction, fulfillment, sufficiency and complete nourishment. Mentioned well over 300 times in the Bible, bread is the most important mainstay in diets around the world, both now and in Bible times. We as parents, intuitively seek to bring complete satisfaction to our families - for their spiritual needs, emotional needs, and physical needs. Jesus said in John 6:48 - 51, "I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." Jesus, when we accept Him as our Saviour, satisfies the void & longing of our souls. His blood satisfies our sin debt before the FATHER in Heaven. Yes, Christ is THE ONLY satisfaction for our spiritual needs. By living Holy lives, keeping our eyes and priorities on Jesus, our emotional needs are met. Matthew 11:28-30 says, "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke (be His partner) upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." By providing our families with the richness of whole grains, and healthy living, we have a great start on meeting those physical. God said in Psalm104:15 that bread strenghtens the heart. And in Psalm 147:11-14 - The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy. He hath blessed thy children within thee. He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. We are grateful to bring you what we believe is the finest of the wheat. God is so good!!!! FALL 2001
As you probably noticed, the newsletter intro has a totally different personality this time. I normally don't stand on a soapbox & wave my flag, but our Nation doesn't normally experience terrorist attacks. Please bear with me and take a moment to reflect.

Everyone wants to DO SOMETHING, that is part of being Americans. Here are my three suggestions:

1. BE SAVED!!
We all watched and participated in memorial services, heard comforting messages, trying to sooth our troubled hearts. But until each individual knows the PRINCE OF PEACE in a personal way, it is all nice platitudes that might bring momentary relief, but not lasting peace. We can not rely on our American citizenship, our good deeds, our church membership, or our sincere ideals to answer the most important question of life. WHERE WILL I SPEND ETERNITY? Jesus saith unto him, 'I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: no man cometh unto the FATHER but by Me.' Jesus paid our sin debt on Calvary's cross. We should die for our own sin, but Jesus willingly laid down His sinless, perfect life, shedding His blood for us to pay our debt. There can be no good works on our part for salvation, otherwise His death is in vain. Ponder these verses from Ephesians 2: 8 & 9. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. The only One receiving the glory in Heaven is JESUS. A wise preacher once commented on an unwise clich鬠"God said it, That settles it, whether I believe it or not." The best thing you can do for yourself and your nation is to be saved. THEN you will have access to the throne room of God.

2. PRAY!!!
God does want to hear from His children. Pray FOR OUR PRESIDENT and HIS ADVISORS. They need much wisdom and I am sooo thankful for our President in this dark hour. Pray FOR THE ENEMY. First of all they need to repent and be saved just like everyone else. If they choose to defy the living God, then we can ask for confusion of schemes, disruption of plans, roadblocks, and failed missions~~~Divine Intervention. Pray FOR OURSELVES. We need to be witnesses in this hour. God has opened doors of revival. We need to realize the Source of our strength is the LORD. We need not fear what man can do to us?

3. CONTINUE ON

A woman once fretted over the usefulness of her life. She feared she was wasting her potential being a devoted wife and mother. She wondered if the time and energy she invested in her husband and children would make a difference.

At times she got discouraged because so much of what she did seemed to go unnoticed and unappreciated. "Is it worth it?" She often wondered. "Is there something better that I could be doing with my time?"

It was during one of these moments of questioning that she heard the still small voice of her heavenly Father speak to her heart. You are a wife and mother because that is what I have called you to be. Much of what you do is hidden from the public eye. But I notice. Most of what you give is done without remuneration. But I am your reward.

Your husband cannot be the man I have called him to be without your support. Your influence upon him is greater than you think and more powerful than you will ever know. I bless him through your service and honor him through your love.

Your children are precious to Me. Even more precious than they are to you. I have entrusted them to your care to raise for me. What you invest in them is an offering to Me.

You may never be in the public spotlight. But your obedience shines as a bright light before me. Continue on. Remember you are my servant. Do all to please Me."

I copied that from an email. It fits so appropriately. Dads leading the home and Moms continuing on will produce the next godly generation of American leaders. You may be training another George Bush or Dick Cheney. Think about it. Until the spring letter.

SPRING 2002
At home is the most difficult place to keep my 'garden' growing properly. Weeds pop up with a blink of an eye. Satan stirs up evil thoughts & attitudes. I must guard my heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Life & death are in the power of the tongue. Maybe this Gardening Plan will remind us of the Garden setting God intended for us IN THE BEGINNING...

Plant three rows of peas:
        Pea-ce of mind
        Pea-ce of heart         Philippians 4:6-7
        Pea-ce of soul

Plant four rows of squash:
        Squash gossip
        Squash indifference         James 3
        Squash grumbling
        Squash selfishness

Plant four rows of lettuce:
        Lettuce be faithful
        Lettuce be kind         Matthew 5:3-12 the Be-Attitudes
        Lettuce be happy
        Lettuce really love one another

No garden should be without turnips:
        Turnip for service when needed
        Turnip to help one another        Colossians 3:16-17
        Turnip the music and sing praises

Water freely with patience and cultivate with love.

There is much fruit in our garden because we reap what we sow.

To conclude our garden we must have thyme:
        Thyme for God
        Thyme for rest         Psalm 46:10a
        Thyme for ourselves
        Thyme for fun

When we incorporate this Garden Plan into our daily lives, it is sure to produce the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT found in Galations 5: 22-26 "...But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified he flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."

The Apostle Paul also stated it this way in Philippians 4: 8 "...Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

We've planted a Christ honoring Garden now. Celebrate the Risen Christ with a prepared heart and a willing spirit.
FALL 2002
Recently my personal devotions centered on Ezra and Nehemiah. God raised up these men to lead His people in rebuilding the Temple and repairing the broken walls surrounding Jerusalem. Ezra & Nehemiah stood for righteousness and kept their eyes focused on the task set before them. When the enemy came to lure them away, they recognized the trap and withstood his tactics. Satan still uses the same methods today ~~ if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Then infiltrate the ranks and make laws to hinder progress. Be aware when the devil hurtles his fiery darts of doubt and discouragement. Realize that "the joy of the Lord is your strength." Neh. 8:10c.

President Bush, like Nehemiah, is trying to repair the breaches in our country. My, how he needs our prayers! One of the best ways we can help is to continue training & raising a Godly generation to carry the torch after us. This year Paul & I are using curriculum from Creation Science Evangelism and the National Center for Constitutional Studies. CSE offer 4 video college courses proving Creation, explaining many apparent mysteries in our world, and totally refuting evolution. NCCS offers several video courses of study. This year we're studying The 28 Principles of Liberty and 47 video lectures called The Making of America. After listening to several lectures, I'm beginning to understand the minds of the Founding Fathers. These righteous men, using God's Natural Laws & Order, produced this form of government that has lasted these 225 years. I'm very excited about both of these programs because I really feel like we are building a firm foundation of truth, erecting the walls that were never erected in my education. In light of this Easter Season, let's ponder the Ultimate Sacrifice for thee, written by a special brother in Christ

       I love thee enough to create life out of nothing.

       I love thee enough to leave the glory of heaven to assume the corruption of man.

                to raise the dead and cleanse the defiled.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto Me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Isaiah 55:2

What a picture God gives us in this simple verse!! Naturally, my mind thinks first of families who consume 'that which is not bread...that which satisfieth not'. My body knows when it is deprived of the true bread & whole grains. I feel sickly and weak. I crave nourishment. I think everyone should 'get on board' and eat the way God provided for us. When man tampers with God's best, we always lose.

When the Spirit takes control, I realize that bread in itself is important, but not nearly as vital as Jesus, the True Bread. John 6:47 states, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life." If that isn't plain enough, He went on to say in verse 51, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." The world tries to satisfy the soul with momentary happiness - entertainment, sports, busyness, music, and vices. None of these satisfies the God-given emptiness within. In Psalm 81:10 God promises to fill and satisfy our hunger, I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide and I will fill it. I want to fill my time and soul with the Eternal which lasts forever, not just the pleasures that last for a moment.
