Wholy Thoughts

Ever feel like you lost your best friend, the world is crashing in around you, can I go on another day?  We all come to wit’s end corner one time or another in this life. For us ladies, family issues and interpersonal relationships are the hardest to deal with.

Just realize a couple of things when you don’t know where to turn….

· God is all ready there. Nothing takes God by surprise. God is timeless. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows your concerns. Trust Him.

· This too shall come to pass… Most circumstances are just for a season in this life. Stay the course. Don’t turn away from the Lord in the hard times. Trust Him in the good times. Trust Him to carry you through the hard times.  We just finished reading through the Book of Job. That righteous man received  blow after  blow. Yes, he grieved. Yes, he hurt, but in the midst of losing everything, thousands of sheep, camels & oxen, and ALL his children,  he emphatically stated, For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: (19:25) His heart was fixed on the LORD.  In the end, God doubled everything he lost, twice as many critters, even a whole new family!

· Our job is to pray, seek God’s Face, turn from our wicked ways, then follow His instructions. II Chronicles 7:14 is still in the Book.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

So much of what we consider a real problem, is REALLY  a spiritual one. Take it to the LORD in prayer! Ask for wisdom, James 1:5. He is waiting to hear from you!

"I believe in the sun, even when it isn't shining.

I believe in love, even when I am alone.

I believe in God, even when He is silent".

Have you read Lamentations 3 lately? Verses 1—20 rehearse all the trials of life and depression. Miserable commentary. Then read the total change of heart in verse 21…

This I recall to my  mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

A nurse on the pediatric ward, before listening to the little ones' chests, would plug the stethoscope into their ears and let them listen to their own heart. Their eyes would always light up with awe, but she never got a response equal to four-year old David's comment. Gently she tucked the stethoscope into his ears and placed the disk over his heart. 'Listen', she said...'What do you suppose that is?' He drew his eyebrows together in a puzzled line and looked up as if lost in the mystery of the strange tap - tap - tapping deep in his chest. Then his face broke out in a wondrous grin and he asked,

'Is that Jesus knocking?'

From our living room to yours, may God’s glorious
Name be praised! Looking forward to the
gorgeous wonders of winter!
